Precious, My First Baby
Thursday, May 19, 2005
This is a story about my first baby, her name is Precious. She was always a handful. When I brought her home from the hospital she used to sleep and she would pucker her lips like she was whistling. She would not stay awake in the day time, but she would stay awake all night.
I remember one night she was crying and her dad had to get up with her because I was totally exhausted. Anyway, when I got up the next day, his face was all scratched up. I asked him what had happened and he said Precious kept raring back and then would scream and cry and claw his face. He said, I'm scared of her, I don't want to get up with her anymore, I think she's possessed. I laughed so hard! I couldn't believe him. She was only about six months old. All it was is she was either teething or had colic and she was used to me getting up with her.
Anyway when I had Samantha, Precious was a year old and she would crawl into Samantha's bed all the time and put her in a headlock. She'd get sunglasses and put on her, steal her bottles, she was just constantly having to be with Samantha. She wanted to rock her, change her diapers, feed her and if I put her in her swing, Precious thought she had to swing her, Samantha didn't know what was happening. Precious loved her so much, she could not get enough of her.
It seemed like Precious watched every move Samantha made. One night I got up to get Samantha a bottle and I had just laid back down, when all of a sudden this glass bottle hit me right in the forehead. Then I hear this little voice yelling at me to Get Up and Get Me some more Chocolate Milk. It was Precious, she was between eighteen months and a year old. Needless to say I had this knot on my forehead.
It was then and there I decided it was time to wean them from the bottle. Of course that only worked for a little while, because Eddo was born a little over seven months later. Then Precious would steal the bottle from Eddo, she would suck on it awhile, give Samantha a little of it, then she'd drink it some more, then maybe she might let Eddo have it again. It just depended on how she felt at the moment.
I think back and I am so happy I had them so close, but wow it was hard. They are very close today, they are like best friends. I thank God for each of them and wonder why He chose to bless me in such a dramatic way! I am sure glad he did, because I can't imagine life without them!

I can't imagine having three little babies like that--practically triplets! What an amazing accomplishment.
great story mom!
My daughters are two years apart and that was hard enough for me. They did become close though, and would play together--which made life easier as they grew.
My oldest sister and I are 11 months apart and we've been at each others throats since. To this day we do not get along. I get along much better with my younger sister who is 2 yrs younger than I am. Go figure.
That is funny. Precious is a sweet name for a baby. :)
Wow, sounds like you had a crazy time with three babies. I'm fine with my one for now. :)
