Guess What Happened Today!
Today I went to town to get my oil changed. As I was getting ready to leave, a woman walked up to me and handed me a CD. I have never seen this woman before, she was about five foot, two inches tall, small build, blonde, approximately forty years old. She appeared to have kind of quiet personality from the impression I received. She explained to me that she felt God wanted me to have this CD. So I took it and said, thank you and got into my vehicle to leave. I looked at the label, it read, God's Power. I thought that was curious, because I am a believer in His power, that He is not limited, that He works in the impossible realm.
I have even told people when they limit God, that their God may be a midget, but I serve a Big, Incredible God and nothing is impossible to Him. I immediately began to wonder if God really wanted me to have this CD, if by some divine intervention, He had brought this lady to me, so I could hear what was on it. I had never heard of the preacher or the ministry before. I stuck the CD in my purse and started home to pick up some overtime slips that I needed to take back to the PD since our time sheets were going in today.
So I arrive at home, go get my slips, put them in my purse, wait for my husband to come home and then I head to town to the PD to turn in my slips to my Sergeant. On the way, I thought about this CD and how I needed to listen to it. So I pulled it out, slid it into my CD player and began to listen. The message was about the authoritative voice of God and how He speaks to us. It was about how God is who He says He is and if He said it in the bible we are to believe it, to take Him at His word and believe in faith, then He will do what He said He will do. There were some amazing testimonies of miracles and healings.
One of the testimonies was about a twelve year old boy who was healed and the strange thing about it, was he had our same last name. My husband and I looked at each other and he said, "what was his name?" Now is that a coincidence that a strange lady walks up to me on the street and wants to give me a CD and one of the healings mentioned on it, the kid had my last name? I don't know, but my husband and I both thought it was a little unusual, but maybe God intended it to be a confirmation to me.
Anyway, I couldn't quit listening to this CD, it was so simple but so incredible. It confirmed everything I believe, but it had me thinking about how we get so busy, we don't listen for the still small voice of God. Even in my bible study, I need to stop, slow down and listen more. I want God to speak to me, I want Him to guide me, maybe this was His way of slowing me down, I am not sure, I am just praying about it for now. So tell me has anyone come up to you on the street and given you anything lately or have you given something to someone?

He definitely wanted you to hear something! Great post!
That's an important message. We need to stop talking (petitioning) and listen, too.
Wow - that is incredible!
Ah! To listen to God ten times more than we talk to Him! Wouldn't that be productive! In His Name, Joe
A valuable lesson. Listen instead of talk.
The last time I was in Target shopping for baby stuff, a woman walked up to me and said that God wanted her to pray with me and asked may she take my hand. Of course I said yes, and right there in the middle of the store we held hands while she prayed aloud for me, my baby, and God's presence in my life. It was a rare and beautiful moment. I thanked her when she left.
He seems to hang out in stores a lot. I was picking up a few things at our village store and had stopped to torment myself with the cinnimon rolls when in my head a voice said. "Buy that man's lunch."
I looked at the young man, he didn't look broke, and I wandered off talking to myself, "If you want me to buy this kid's lunch you are going to have to figure out a way for me to do it. I am not going to be busted for wandering around talking to myself about buying a strange lunch! I am not going to walk up to a strange man and tell him I have to buy his lunch....Nope."
I got what I needed and headed for the check out.
Now this boy could have paid for his lunch at the deli counter, but he didn't. And there he was, right in front of me at the check out.
As the last of his items scanned I rolled my loaf of bread up to the clerk and said, "Put that on my bill too." and started putting my items on the counter.
The boy said, You don't have to do that. and the clerk says No one ever bought my lunch. To the boy I said, Oh yes, I do, you may not know it but I have to buy your lunch. To the clerk I said, may be it will be you turn next time.
He left, I paid for it all, and his lunch and left and I never will know why a less than 5.00 lunch had to be my treat.
Not to know the rest of the story bothers me worse than hearing voices in my head....LOL
