Do You Believe God Can Do Anything?

Precious is my daughter. She is dark haired, dark eyed and has beautful tan skin. When she was born, I thought she was the most beautiful, precious little girl I had ever seen, so I named her Precious. When she started school in the first grade, the teacher would call her name and all the kids would laugh and say Preciousssh! She would come home and tell me how she hated her name and she wanted me to change it. I would explain to her how her name came about and she would be okay with it again for awhile.

Precious was always a very strong willed child. She loved sports of any kind. She fished, she danced, she played basketball, soccer, football, whatever the other kids were doing, she was in the middle of it, most of the time she was the one who got everything going. When Precious was seven years old, she had scoliosis. One of her legs began to draw up until it was difficult for her to walk. She would sit in the lawn chair by the patio door and watch her sister, brother and friends play soccer, she wasn't able to even walk to the lunch room. Her hips became so out of line that her leg drew up around four or five inches and she walked sideways. I honestly thought she had multiple sclerois or something. I didn't know what was happening to my little girl.

I was very much of a new Christian at the time, but I believed if God is God, He was able to do anything and if He couldn't, then He was just like me. I read in my bible the scripture that says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb. 13:8). Then again in James 5:15 where it says the Prayer of Faith will heal the sick. So in my heart I knew if Christ healed the sick back then, and He is the same, then He heals now. I figured if I could heal my daughter, I would do it and if God loves us more than we can imagine or more than humanly possible, then He too would heal us.

So I first took Precious to a regular medical doctor who recommended a Chiropractor. For a year, we went to this chiropractor four times a week. Her leg would seem to improve but not for long. Finally one day I decided to take her to a specialist. I made an appt and took off to the hospital about fifteen miles away. We arrived, they took her for xrays, the doctor calls me into the hallway, he begins to show me the results and tell me they will have to operate. He advised he was going to put a steel rod into her spine and she would never wear high heels or play sports or run again. The doctor left the room and tears began to stream down Precious' little face. I leaned down and asked, "Precious, why are you crying?, all the while everything in me wanted to scream and cry too, but I told her as boldly as I knew how that we had Jesus and He was going to heal her.

On the way to the hospital that day, I had been listening to christian radio and a preacher was talking about someone who had sugar diabetes. He made the statement, " what do you mean you have sugar diabetes? The report in heaven says, all sickness and disease went to the cross two thousand years ago and by His stripes you were healed!" Well, my faith was new, I again believed God worked in the impossible realm.....I mean I figured if God is God He can do anything and if He can't, then why should I believe in Him because if He couldn't heal my daughter then He was just like me.

I stopped at a gas station on the way home and called my husband to let him know what the doctor said and then I told him, that I didn't care what the doctor said, that God was going to heal Precious and I didn't want him to ever confess anything different. Of course he thought I had lost my mind, but I was pretty adamant so he listened although I knew he didn't believe in healing, but I knew God could do anything, after all He works in the impossible and nothing is too difficult for Him. Either I was going to trust in Him and Him alone and His Word or I didn't believe it at all.

This Testimony will Be Continued Tomorrow..........
