Half Pomeranian, Half Rat Terrier

Our new addition to the family is a dog whom Joseph calls Sexy. She is a little older than this picture and spoiled rotten. Honestly the last thing I want to do is keep this little dog, but Joseph has attached himself to her and I guess she will remain a member of the family. Every night when he comes home, he looks for this little dog. I had her in the kennel outside yesterday and he went to get her, she has to watch TV and sleep with him. Maybe he needs her, I don't know.

I have always heard dogs are very therapuetic, so I guess maybe she will be good for him. Dogs loves you unconditionally and they are alot of responsibility, so I set him down and told him he has to care for her or we will have to give her up. So far he is taking good care of her, so we will see how it goes for now.

Awe! The puppy is so cute.. and they are very therapeutic. All this talk about dogs is making me want one! Do you think they will mind if I get a dog and put him in my closet with some water and food when I leave for work? My room isn't much bigger lol. hmmm

I think a lot more of dogs than many people I know. Unconditional is right. I just wish more people would take the time to take their dogs to some training classes - actually, the training is for BOTH the owner and the dog.

I think its a good thing for Joseph. Not only does he receive the unconditional love and companionship of a dog, but he also gets to learn som responsibility for taking care of it as well.

Joseph has probably never had anyone or anything depend on him before. Most of his life has been in pursuit of self interest. Having the dog makes him think of somthing other than himself, which I think is a great first step in making lasting chagnes in his life.

We have a little rat terrier/poodle mix that we got from the dog pound. We call him "Strider" after the Aragorn character in Lord of the Rings.

We've had him for about 4 years now. He's a cute little thing, loves to play fetch, and have his tummy rubbed at night before bedtime. He loves mama, and gets along well with our two kids. But at nighttime, he's all mine! He loves to curl up and sleep next to me.
