I've Got Your Back!

Thursday, August 11, 2005

I found this poem and thought I would share it with you!!

I am a small and precious child, my Dads been sent to fight...
The only place I'll see his face, is in my dreams late at night...

He will be gone far too many days For my young mind to keep track...
I may be sad, but I am proud.Because My Daddy's got your back.......

I am a caring mother. My son has gone to war...
My mind is filled with worriesThat I have never known before.

Everyday I try to keep my thoughts from turning black....
I may be scared, but I am proud, because My son has got your back......

I am a strong and loving wife, with a husband soon to go...
There are times I'm terrified in a way most will never know...

I bite my lip, and force a smile as I watch my husband pack...
My heart may break to pieces, but I am proud, because My husbands got your back......

I am a Marine, Soldier, Sailor & Airman......Serving Proudly, Standing Tall...
I fight for Freedom, Yours and Mine by answering this call....

I do my job while knowing, the thanks it sometimes lacks...
Please Say a prayer that I'll come home soon.Because it's me who's got your back.....

That was awesome, the troops are always in my prayers. And I am always grateful to the ones who have to go fight over there while I stay behind the scenes! Thank you Dana for posting that.

Beautiful poem. I have a close friend who has two of her sons both over in Iraq. I would be worried out of my mind, but both of the boys gladly joined up to fight. She is very proud of them and our whole church prays for them often. Thanks for the post.

Wow, thank you for posting this. Its weird b/c even though I am IN the military, stuff like this chokes me up. I thought about my husband, who will also be going in November on a 6 month deployment on his ship. I am thankful for the freedom we have, but I always remember that freedom isn't free, and I pray for the troops every night.

thanks for the post. I get so tired of hearing the military getting torn down on tv. we need to remember these brave people in our prayers.
