He is the Way, the Truth and the Life

Sunday, September 04, 2005

Today when I went to work, I was very frustrated. Someone I believe in let me down in a major way. I really let it get to me, then I remembered there is only one who will never let me down.

I have peace in knowing He is always there. I know there will always be people in my life who will mess up, because they are human, just as I am, and I am sure I have let someone down too at one time or another.

Today as with everyday I have reason to be thankful that I can depend on Him to never let me down. I remember his mercy and grace in my life, so it allows me to have mercy and grace toward others.

He is the way, the truth and the life. He is the only way. If only I could be more like Him. He has shown me mercy (clemency, compassionate treatment). He has shown me grace (unmerited favor). I too must show mercy and grace.

I feel quiet today, I am glad I am going to church tomorrow, I need my cup filled up, I need to be around my brothers and sisters in Christ. A boy at the Ranch once told me...."Do you feel that Big Love in here?" I laugh when I think about it. I said, "Yes! that's the love of Christ!" So this morning about 9am, I will be there and I will feel that love, as for now I will let His peace that passes all understanding take over, I know He is always with me and His love surrounds me like the sea, but sometimes my feelings get in the way and I can't see quite as clearly, so until then I trust Him to work all these things out for my good. He always has a purpose and something to teach me, I just have to be willing to listen.

Peopel always disappoint me. Though I often don't understand whet His plan is, God never does.

I know what it's like to believe in someone and have that person let you down...in a big way. It's easy to feel totally discouraged, but it's amazing what prayer and the power of Christ can do to someone's heart...both the person who let you down and to you, the person who is disappointed. I've seen relationships turn around in time because one of the two people was a Christian. God is awesome. Hang on to your faith, Dana! It won't let you down. :)

Your post speaks such truth and happens to many, including me, so I can relate to you. I have stopped blogging for a while because I have even become too dependent on my internet friends for strength and support when I know I need to depend solely on my Father. I expected too much and God has shown me, but it is discouraging and disheartening. I understand how you feel and will pray for you. Faith will get you through your trial. I have had you bookmarked for a while and love visiting you.

Blessings,
Donna

P.S. I deleted my previous post because I made a typo and I hate typos.

Do other people disappoint us or do we disappoint ourself in our response? Luke 6:29

I disappoint myself all the time. As in, don't piss me off. ;)

Dana, you are correct. As long as we are human and live on this earth people will continue to let us down.

God never lets us down!! EVER!

Hope you are having a better week.

We all need to be at church on Sunday to recharge our batteries. Life can beat us down during the week and Sunday is a refresher.

That was so nice to hear. (Not the friend letting you down part)
It always makes me feel better knowing that He is always there for me to talk to and so much more. Recently I discovered some book about the women in the Bible and their lives. The authors last name is Rivers and the ways she writes brings the women to life. It is so nice knowing what all they did and how much they went through. It makes my problems not seem as big.
