God Knows His Name!

Last night I was getting off at the PD when a young man who used to live with me showed up. This boy is nineteen and used to be in a gang, he couldn't go home to his hometown without fear of being killed if he didn't want to be a part of the gang.
He has been here for almost a year now and is working, paying bills, struggling because he just lost his car, but he is doing okay. He isn't attending church and God is probably the last person he thinks about, but nonetheless, I continue to pray the seeds planted in his heart will grow and one day a harvest will break forth.
I was happy to see him. He had worked a double shift and had gotten off work, and just dropped by to talk. He has a sadness in his eyes, I know he isn't happy. Who can be without the Lord??? There is no peace in a life without God. I know cause I have been there and I wouldn't turn back for anything. Nothing is worth giving up what God has been so gracious to give me.
Everything begins and ends with God. He gave me life and one day I will stand before Him. I am glad I am His child. I want things to be right between He and I. I pray this young man will one day have the peace I have. Pray for him, will you? God knows his name.

I will. I know a man who was like this, with a story almost identical except he had lost his wife & children. He carries a bag that never leaves him. It used to hold a gun. Now it holds his Bible. And he prays with his children as he and his wife tuck them in at night. It can happen!
I will.
What a beautiful story Cheryl.
Done.
You're right! I know cause I have been there , too. ;)
"Everthing begins and ends with God." Amen to that!!
Cheryl,
that is awesome!
LeAnn,

Thanks for prayers!
Mike,
God is awesome, I never forget where I was. I have visited your site numerous times and can't post a comment.
Shelly,
He is the Alpha and Omega, He knows the end and I can trust He is working it all out!
I will pray for him when I pray for my husband. I know the sadness in the eyes that you talk about. I also know the joy in the heart that comes from knowing the Lord. What a difference! We have to keep praying because God doesn't want to let us down; he listens. He can change hearts. I've been there and I'm here now, so I know from first-hand experience the transforming power of God's touch.
I will pray also...we must never lose hope and our desire to plant seeds. Bless you !
The world is hard on everyone, those that know God manage the hurdles better. Just knowing that someone cares for you, that alone makes your heart find happiness. I will pray.
Hope this young man finds what he is looking for. I would be a lot easier if he had God in his life. Keep planting seeds and maybe one of them will take. I know from experience how seed planting works. I'll pray for him.
Amen! I'm praying.
