Christmas in Heaven

Friday, December 23, 2005

I came across this poem I have never read before and it made me think of my eight day old nephew who died in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. This poem made me smile as I thought of him spending Christmas in heaven. He would be about 13 years old now.

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
with tiny lights like heaven's stars reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular please wipe away that tear
for I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
but the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you of the joy their voices bring
for it is beyond description to hear the angels sing.

I can't tell you of the splendor or the peace here in this place
Can you just imagine spending Christmas with our Savior face to face?

I'll ask him to lift your spirit as I tell you of His love
so please pray for one another as you lift your eyes above.

Please let your hearts be joyful and let your spirit sing
for I am spending Christmas in heaven and I'm walking with the King.

What a beautiful poem, and yes, we have to keep the spirit of life with us always at Christmas - to be eternally alive with our loved ones. Have a very happy Christmas, Dana....

Wow Dana, that was amazing. As I am sure you know my grandma died on Christmas Eve 3 years ago making this time of year so hard, but that poem was completely uplifting..

This poem couldn't have come at a better time. I have a friend who has a son who died just yesterday. He has been in an institution for years and he had complications from Pnumonia. I think he is about 30 years old. I will copy this poem and send it to her via email...Thanks! Merry Christmas

Beautiful. The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago has a Christmas around the world display - trees from almost every country. Your poem brought that part of my childhood to mind.

Merry Christmas!

That is so beautiful. It makes me think of my mom, who's spent the last 3 Christmases in heaven with Jesus. I'm pretty jealous.

This is beautiful. It makes me think warm and peaceful thoughts of those who've gone before us. Thank you for this. I was thinking of my best friend who passed away from leukemia a couple of years ago and her young son who is still with us. I pray he finds strength and hope in God. He is our comforter.

Death is difficult. Christmas and other holidays remind us of the ones we have lost. But heaven is better than earth, but not for the ones who are still on earth. I am reminded of unborn children. They are with God. He will somehow work out their personalities and everything, just like your little nephew. God has a special purpose for him, both on earth and in heaven.
