How To Make Me Laugh!
Wednesday, March 08, 2006
If you were to know me in person you would find I am very easily humored. I love to laugh, I find humor in some of the craziest things.
I went to this training and the lady was telling some real life stories of things that had happened to her and I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Oh my she was hilarious. Thankfully my friend was also humored and was laughing too, because no one else in the room was laughing. This lady was an excellent public speaker and she had a way of telling stories without even cracking a smile and it made you laugh all the more.
My sister has a way of telling things that are happening in her life and she makes me laugh. She was telling me some of the mean things my mom says to her and I couldn't help it, I started laughing. It all sounded so ridiculous. At first she was upset, but when I started laughing, she started laughing and couldn't even talk, which made me laugh all the more.
Then I have these kids of mine that when I am with them, they make me laugh. When they were little, they would do something and I had to get their attention, so I would make them all come sit on the couch so I could talk to them. There were three of them and they were one year apart, so you can imagine these little guys, four, five and six, with their big brown eyes and dark brown hair all sitting there waiting on me to reprimand them. I remember thinking once I got them all in there, they looked so cute and adorable, I would start to tell them what they were in trouble for and they looked so innocent, I had to turn around for a minute to keep from smiling or laughing. It was like I would feel this enormous love for them and I just couldn't let them have it like I wanted to. They all turned out to be the greatest kids, God truly blessed me. They all have my sense of humor too, if we are together all we do is laugh.
I could go on and on about laughing, but tell me what makes you laugh?

Heaps of things make me laugh... and I have 3 kids.... who used to be 3, 4 and 6 or something like that.
Having them on this trip through South Am has been heaps of fun, although Debbie (oldest one) had to return to work and husband. Our meals are a laugh from start to finish and everyone wants to get one of the others to laugh. Every now and then someone really loses it and then the whole tribe starts laughing uncontrollably!
My son Jeremy (Jem) actually does stand-up comedy, so he's certainly got my sense of humour.... poor kid. (He is 27 now!)
Maybe he'll be the next TELL IT LIKE IT IS blogger on my site.
"laughter is the best medicine" is more true than you may think. I recently watched a report showing how physically, laughter, helps blood flow. People who laugh, live longer.
Comedy seems to have changed over the years. Many of these new stand-up comics I don't enjoy because of language and content, but I used to love Bill Cosby! I have 5 of his albums that I love to pull out and listen to. He cracks me up!
I love to laugh out loud and I love people that love to laugh. My friends and I were the ones that always "got the giggles" in school or thought of something funny at church and had to hide our laughter.
This is a great post, Dana. You made me remember things (that are too long to share), but bring a smile to my face.
awe I can see little Precious, Lava, and Eddo sitting on the couch lookin all innocent. That's just way too cute.
I can't name one specific thing that absolutely makes me laugh other than just someone with a great sense of humor or a good comedy. I love to laugh too so it don't take me much ;)
You do have wonderful kids. But isn't it funny how many people don't have a well-developed sense of humor? Strange how your son did a similar post today. You both are on the same wave-length!
My kids are hilarious; I never know what will come out of their mouths. Their facial expressions, their body language; even when they are pitching a huge temper tantrum...... they are hilarious.
I also get a kick out of watching George "attempt" to fix things. Of course he ends up having a blow up, but I laugh. Sometimes that's all you can do. KWIM?
Hi LLL
I laugh alot with my wife. I live in a apartment and sometimes me and my wife will be laughing so much that they think that we are drunk. I know God laughs and we are after made after Him.
Bless you
Great post
Doug
I love to laugh long and hard, too! My daughter and her friends, when they get together at our house, they are a barrel of laughs. It's contagious!
Mom, you are so funny. I can distinctly remember you turning around on more than one occasion when you were trying not to laugh. You would get real mad and say, "This is not funny!" but you would be laughing while you said it and we would all just laugh and we were so happy because we new our cuteness had gotten us out of trouble.
Funny thing is it still works!
I laugh when I think about all the good times and bad times we had at JP5 together. We would get into so much trouble because we had become friends and we were looked down upon because we were also trying to serve Christ while on the job. We were good medicine for that office and they did not appreciate us! Oh well, we had fun while it lasted. I never had a job where I laughed as much as we did when we worked together. You, Dana made me laugh!
I can't help but laugh. Life is just too funny.
Thanks for coming by. Please don't judge me by my last few posts. I have been having trouble with some PeTA activists and those post were written to tweak them. Please check out the Best of section in my sidebar.
