The Spiritual Realm

I am always saying everything in the visible world came from the invisible world. Everything has spiritual roots.
This week as my son preached, he made the statement..."Where is the devil?," then he said, "he's everywhere you are." I thought what a powerful statement but so true. He is always there in the background trying to distract us, trying to get us to look away from our Creator, trying to get us to trust in our own strength, trying to divert us, to doubt God. Even when we sit down to read our bibles or to pray, what happens? What about when we are in church? Have you ever been distracted, found yourself listening to something going on in your mind.
Anyway, As I listened to him tell a story about driving down the road and he was adjusting his brights, the guy in front of him thought he was bright lighting him, so he decided to have road rage and try to mess with my son. Anyway, the guy pulled up beside them and kept trying to start something, then he would get in front of them and brake, then he wanted them to exit, they acted as if they were going to, then went on as he got off the road.
Eddie was telling how he felt in a way he was running, that he really wanted to stop and get into it with this guy, but he knew this was just not an incident of road rage, it was Satan himself trying to divert him. So he said, "what could have happened if I had stopped?" Could I have hurt this guy because I was so angry?, could he have hurt me?, what about my friends? So many things could have played out if he would've given in to the flesh, but thankfully God was there also and he chose to listen to God, instead of his flesh and Satan.
So many times in life, we forget we are not fighting flesh and blood, but the bible says we fight against principalities, powers and spiritual wickedness in high places. There is a devil and he hates us and his whole goal is to divert, discourage, cause doubt. I am reminded of when King David was going to go up against Goliath, he said, the same God who was with me with the lion and the bear is the same God who will be with me with this Philistine. David knew who was there, although he might not be able to physically see God, He knew He was with him.
So let's remember the same God who was with Daniel in the Lion's den, with Shadrach, Meshach and Abendego in the Fire and with David and the Philistine is the same God who is with us today. He said he would never leave us or forsake us.

The very same God.
You have much to be proud of in Eddie. He is not only a very good man, but interesting and intelligent too. We all are responsible for ourselves, eventually, but there is no doubt you put him on the right path to begin with. You should win mother of the year.
All we have to do is call on the Lord for help when we need it. Satan is everywhere and he is jealous of what Christ did for us. He will use all his power to distract us. Sometimes it is big things and sometimes it is little things. We need to keep our heads up and always walk with the Light of Christ.
You, as a law enforcement officer, know just what could have happened to your son had he stopped. He was wise to just keep going and not "tangle" with the hot head.
Listen to the spirit and he will guide you in all the things you should do.
Great post!
I fell behind a bit here.
The Eyes post was great! I hope there is more comming.
In The Believers Armor, The way you make people feel is how they will inturpret what you said.
This post is a very interesting post to be sure. Your sons statment is indeed a powerful one.
The devils goal is to discourage, divide, and destroy. He gets a person discouraged over something. This will cause the person to withdraw from what they are discouraged with (divide), then satan moves in and destroys everything. Think about any church split. Discouraged, Divided, Destroyed.
God Bless you for your words, I am encouraged, Hi from England!
That is a great statement he made - he is everywhere you are. Great post.

We have a lot of road rage and it can be very unpredictable - even flashing your headlights can get you killed, or looking out your side window. I'm glad your son fought the urge to play into this evil.
Road rage is a terrifying thing. Yes Satan is everywhere, but so is God and God is more powerful.
Yeah!
Jesus is our shield.
He'll always protect us.
A great story we can all identify with. Satan and his followers that were cast out of heaven roam the earth freely, so we must stay on our guard.
Oh -- and greetings from Colorado! :)
This is so true...and it's scary wondering what could've happened if God didn't provide a way out...it says in the Bible that with every temptation, He provides a way out. This is a comforting thought. It's great to know that He is always with us.
good one.
