Old Brain, Young Brain

As usual I have been reading alot and thinking, so here's my short post for today, something for you to think about.
Did you know they did a study on the brain of an eighty six year old and the brain of a twenty six year old and there was really no difference. The reason we deteriorate mentally is because of non use.
Also women are more right brained and men are left brained. No wonder we see things differently. Personally I think I am whole brained, but I do know some with half a brain. lol. Just joking, maybe I should say they use half of the half brain they have. Does that make sense.
Ok, here's what each side of the brain does....
LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses logic detail oriented facts rule words and language present and past math and science can comprehend knowing acknowledges order/pattern perception knows object name reality based forms strategies practical safe
RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses feeling"big picture" oriented imagination rules symbols and images present and future philosophy & religion can "get it" (i.e. meaning) believes appreciates spatial perception knows object function fantasy based presents possibilities impetuous risk taking

My own brain has two parts, the right brain and the wrong brain. I usually function using only one.

The sad thing about aging is not that the brain disintegrates, but our attitude about life does. When we stop exploring, reading, thinking and challenging, we cease to remain whole and functioning. I hope I use everything I've got to the very end....
My son SaurKid has a game he plays that stimulates different parts of the brain and then quizzes him to see what his daily brain age is. We both take the tests. It's fun!!!
If we keep learning and surround ourselves with positive people...and laugh, laugh, laugh...we'll always be young.
