Special Kids

This time of year always gets me thinking....and this year it is about a young man I used to have on my Special Ed bus. His name was Ray. He lived in a home called the Ponderosa house, he was around fifteen at the time.
I used to take him to school and home everyday. One day while riding on my bus my husband, Chuck happened to be with us that day. So he started talking with Ray. He asked him if he knew who Jesus was...So Ray held up two toothpicks and made a cross and said, "yes and I know those other two guys too." So Chuck said, "what other two guys?" Ray replied, "you know, God and the ghost, (Holy Ghost)." We were both struck with awe of this young man who had the mind of a four to six year old was so wise.
Ray then began to tell us a story of how his friend from the Pondersosa house had gotten on the roof and was going to kill himself. So Ray ran in the house and grabbed his bible and threw it to his friend and told him to hold onto it cause Jesus loved him and was going to save him.
I find myself missing Ray right now and tomorrow I am going to try to find the new home he is in and see if he can spend Christmas with us this year. So if you read this...pray God leads me to him. He was such a blessing to our whole family. I could see God working not only in his life, but in our lives as well everytime he was around.

Having a "special kid" of my own, this brought tears to my eyes ... tears of happiness that Ray knows Jesus! My prayer is that the Lord will lead you in the right direction so this special young man can be in your loving home Christmas Day. Thanks for sharing.
