31 Day challenge
Last month our family took a 31 day challenge and committment. For the 31 days of August we decided we would watch nothing but Christian Television and listen to Christian Radio. We also were reading a chapter of Proverbs early in the morning and reading it again late at night. It was quite refreshing and also challenging.
I could see a deeper committment to Christ among the boys. I actually would hear them singing Christian songs and really getting into it. I was blessed and amazed. Then I began to see a deeper committment between Junior and his fiance, Eliana.
The other thing that struck me is just how much time we actually spent together, walking, playing basketball, sitting in the yard laughing and talking and just how close we all were. It was nice, and now we are on to our next challenge...I wanted to memorize the word and so one of the boys has challenged me to memorize Proverbs 1. That shouldn't be too hard, since I love Proverbs!
Also thanks to all of you for being patient with me as I took a break from blogging to plan a wedding, help me daughter and her baby and do some extra things for my mom. Everyone is good here, hope you all are doing good!!

hey dana...I missed you but am always happy to hear how the Lord is blessing you....that is soooo awesome....I did the same thing, only inspired by a fellow blogger...read a proverb a day for the month of august...it was very uplifting in the midst of many trials this past month...
it's good to see you back...
God Bless
donna
P.S. I moved to a new blog...
Hooray...We have missed you! Very interesting post! Once I grounded my daughter (with good cause) from tv, computer, telephone, video games...for a whole month...and she taught herself how to play the guitar! Good reminder to reassess the resource of time we have been given and to use it wisely!
Hey Dana ,
Good to hear about all the things ya'll were doing. That is great !
I know I would have enjoyed what you all did ! When I kept my grandchildren this summer they told their mom that it was fun staying with Paparon and cooking cakes and pies and cookies with the girls . Since I couldn't play ball with the boys they felt left out and started taking cooking lessons ?
What amazed me is they got accustomed to reading scriptures before we engaged in cooking every morning . They told their mom that it was like going to school every morning .
Blessings and wishing ya'll a good weekend .
Ron.
I missed you also, but what a good reason to be away! I think I will start reading Proverbs a chapter a day myself. I've read it before, but I have a feeling that new insights will be revealed to me this time too.
I'm happy that all is well in your life. I continue to keep you in my prayers.
Glad to see that you've returned to the blog world -- again.
Sounds as though You've spent a productive time away.
wow, congrats on the 30 day results.
That's the kind of challenge we all should take up w/our families. God always honors time spent w/him.
What a blessing to hear what you've been up to. Great post. It was an encouragement to me.
Sounds like a great challenge. Glad to know you're all doing well.
It's nice to see you back Dana. I'm glad all is well with you.
Wow!
You're a very good mother, daughter and friend =)
