Cancer Free - Four Months

Friday, March 28, 2008

Lori asked how Chuck, my husband was doing. The Praise Report is he is cancer free. We opted not to do the 12 Week Radiation with the Radiation seeds and went to Dr. David Ellis in Arlington, Texas who is a Prostate Cancer Specialist who used to recommend Radiation and Chemo but now believes they are both terrible treatments, he said they only have a 52% success rate and that is not good enough. He practices a new FDA treatment called Cryotherapy or Cryoblation, it is freezing the cells which kills them on contact. It is minimally invasive and has around a 94% success rate. So, now Chuck's PSA score is .03 which is better than they hoped and shows no sign of cancer at all!! Thanks to the Lord and thank you Dr. Ellis for being open to Alternative Treatments to cancer.

What an Amazing God!

I share Einstein's affirmation that anyone who is not lost on the rapturous awe at the power and glory of the mind behind the universe "is as good as a burnt out candle."
The French Mathematician, Lecompte de Nouy, examined the laws of probability for a single molecule of high dissymmetry to be formed by the action of chance. De Nouy found that, on an average, the time needed to form one such molecule of our terrestrial globe would be about 10 to the 253 power, i.e. billions of years.
"But," continued de Nouy ironically, "let us admit that no matter how small the chance it could happen, one molecule could be created by such astronomical odds of chance. However, one molecule is of no use. Hundreds of millions of identical ones are necessary. Thus we either admit the miracle or doubt the absolute truth of science."

Just Deal With It!

Friday, March 21, 2008

I have a supervisor who is always smiling and always has something good to say. I have another one who takes issue with everything and is very insecure. The first always recognizes anyone who goes the extra mile or just acknowledges he is glad you work for him.

I asked the first why they were so happy, and of course my motive was to find out if he is a Christian. But his answer was that he gets up and decides to have a good day because even if he isn't having one no one wants to hear about it. There is alot of truth in that.

The other day I heard a preacher say there comes a time when you realize there are things that are going to change and things that aren't. No matter what you do or say it is not going to change the situation. In the situation with my other supervisor, she has been at the job for thirteen years, everyone knows how she is, she knows her job and does it well, but is very insecure.

She will not let anyone make any type of suggestion to make things easier and if you make one, she tells you it is horrible then adopts it and institutes it as her own. There are training programs she will not let you take and manuals she won't let you see, so you have to be very careful and mention it to someone over her head in order to be able to participate in anything that she already has training in.

Anyway I say all this just to say....there are things in life beyond our control and they will never change. We cannot change those people who do not want to change, and God will not zap them and make them change, so rather than even give a moment to talking about it, or fretting about it, I have decided to just say..."Ok Lord, this one is yours, I am not gonna even waste my time, I will do what I can and the rest is up to Him." My first supervisor was right, no one wants to hear it anyway so why bother?

Just A Thought!

Thursday, March 20, 2008

I was thinking which is normal for me, I always have these thoughts come in my mind and people are always saying things like where do you get that stuff from and I tell them it came from my mind so I guess God must have given me the thought. I tend to think deeply about the things I care about.

I was thinking about how there is such immorality among Christians. Anyway the thought came to me....that many of us would never defile the church, which is a man made building, but the temple of God which is God's house, which is our Body, we take no thought about. I was thinking God created one, man created the other. Many would not think of bringing a pornographic movie to the church house man made, yet would sit in this temple God made and watch one, hmmmm. Many would be careful not to utter a curse word in the church house made by man, but it comes out of the house God created. Many would not utter a dirty joke in a church house made by man, yet it comes out of the house God created. So .... we try to make this man made house that we call the church seem like such a holy place, but we are walking around in GOD'S HOUSE, we are HIS TEMPLE, when are we going to care about the one He created.

Beyond My Ability!!

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

There are many things I have learned the past year and one of them is...there are things that come my way that are beyond my ability to do anything about. I used to quote that verse, "I can do all things thru Christ who Strengthens me" and I really believed I could, but now I see He was saying He will help us thru any circumstance but it doesn't mean I am a miracle worker!!, or that He is going to perform a miracle on my behalf. He is the miracle worker but He works those miracles in His time and in His purpose and what I may think is a curse may actually be His way of working things out.

I am at a loss at times as to what I should do, how I should do it and even if I want to do it! Does that make sense? I don't even understand why alot of things happen. I don't see how God is using those things to work out His perfect plan, but I know He is. I know He is in control, He is God and He will always have the last word. It doesn't matter if the situation seems hopeless, He is still in control and He is Lord whether we recognize it or not!!

God is not thru with me yet! He is still teaching me, growing me and I am still learning!!

Ingratitude

Friday, March 14, 2008

Early this morning I came across this story and thought I would share it with you......

Andrew Carnegie, the multimillionaire, left $1million for one of his relatives, who in return cursed Carnegie thoroughly because he had left $365 million to public charities and had cut him off with just one measly million.

Samuel Leibowitz, criminal lawyer and judge, saved 78 men from the electric chair. Not one ever did bother to thank him.

Many years ago, as the story is told, a devout king was disturbed by the ingratitude of his royal court. He prepared a large banquet for them. When the king and his royal guests were seated, by prearrangement, a beggar shuffled into the hall, sat down at the king's table, and gorged himself with food. Without saying a word, he then left the room. The guests were furious and asked permission to seize the tramp and tear him limb from limb for his ingratitude. The king replied, "That beggar has done only once to an earthly king what each of you does three times each day to God. You sit there at the table and eat until you area satisfied. Then you walk away without recognizing God, or expressing one word of thanks to Him."

Ingratitude denotes spiritual immaturity. Infants do not always appreciate what parents do for them. They have short memories. Their concern is not what you did for me yesterday, but what are you doing for me today. The past is meaningless and so is the future. They live for the present. Those who are mature are deeply appreciative of those who labored in the past. They recognize those who labor during the present and provide for those who will be laboring in the future.
